Flight Enhancements LLC is a small aviation company started by industry professionals. We started our business in coastal Georgia, but we have relocated to beautiful Oxford, Connecticut. Our experience includes over 25 years in aviation, including aircraft maintenance, avionics, engineering and flying.

We are approaching 200 Auto-Step Kits sold. Thank you for your support. We typically keep kits in stock, so no waiting. Auto-Lean is still available as well, with a short lead time.

We continue to produce numerous Auto-Step kits with good feedback. We have recently encountered a sign of the times and have been hit with significant tariffs on one of our electrical sub-assemblies, only available from out of country. We have managed to keep our pricing low, especially for an FAA-PMA kit. The impact of these tariffs requires us to make some adjustments. Rather than make a price increase, we will maintain current pricing of $395 plus shipping, but we will not be able to offer the various discounts we have provided in the past. We will revisit this as we get a handle on these new tariffs imposed by the US Government. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As we approach one year of selling our Auto-Step kits, we are approaching our 50th sale. We hope our introductory discount helped those with an immediate need. However, in order to stay ahead of increasing business costs, we have made the decision to apply our normal pricing to the Auto-Step kits. As always, we offer installer discounts. The Auto-Step actuator for Mooney's is nearing approval. We are cleaning up loose ends with the FAA and anticipate approval by June, 2018. The actuator kit weighs less than the stock installation and is fully automatic or manual. Call us for introductory pricing. This will be great for folks looking to eliminate their vacuum pump or needing to replace their vacuum actuator.

Auto-Heat is fully approved with kits in stock. The FAA has issued a letter that authorizes installation as a MINOR alteration. We have our first installation of our electric step conversion for Mooney's. See our video for details and contact us if interested. This kit will work with hand crank and Brittain pneumatic powered steps. If you are going all electric in the panel, this is your opportunity to lose the vacuum pump forever.

We've had a lot going on. Our Auto-Lean now has STC approval for a broad number of aircraft. This is called an Approved Model List STC and it gives us the ability to rapidly add even more aircraft to the list. Take a look at our Auto-Lean page to see the list.
The FAA has agreed that our Auto-Heat is considered a minor alteration. We are working with them and they will provide a letter so that installers can feel confident in installing with only a log book entry. We have also submitted our application for PMA. The Auto-Heat can also act as Auto-Cool.....how cool is that!? Call us to find out more.
We are also working on a CO detector for Auto-Heat. This configuration will automatically shut off heat and open the vent in case you have a CO leak in the cabin. If you like this concept, please contact us to provide your encouragement!

Rob's Blog: Even though I have been flying with Auto-Lean for a few years now, I still find new benefits. There have been a number of threads regarding aggressive leaning on the ground to prevent spark plug fouling. It just happens that the way the Auto-Lean actuator is rigged, you can slew the mixture to the lean stop (of Auto-Lean) for taxi. It happens to be a setting that allows the engine to continue to run, but will limit your power noticeably if you attempted to take off without setting it rich. In fact, I get a reminder to go rich during the mag check when I can't quite get there. One could even set the HOLD temp feature once leaned and the fault light would blink if you moved the throttle significantly, providing another reminder. Just slew rich prior to takeoff. One might even use the slew feature to find best power from the lean side of peak for high DA TO. I have not tried this, as I am close to sea level and don't notice a huge difference. After landing, another opportunity to use this feature....one could simply slew to the lean stop once clear of the taxiway. This was not an intentional design feature, but I have found it useful lately. So now I have chock to chock utility. Taxi, climb, cruise, descent, and taxi back.

We are nearing certification of the AML-STC for Auto-Lean. The FAA has indicated that it is likely that we will have approval in December of 2016! The AML-STC will allow for installation of Auto-Lean on most part 23 single engine aircraft, including Cessna, Beechcraft, Piper, Maule, Mooney and others. The update includes turbocharged models as well. The AML also allows us to easily add "quadrant" equipped aircraft as well, such as Cirrus models. Contact us for details or to pre-order.

We had our first FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) audit a couple of weeks ago. The FAA reviewed our Quality System and approved us to begin production. We will have one more audit when the first production units are manufactured and then we should be granted PMA. We are now taking orders for these first 5 units. We are offering discounted pricing to the first 5 who respond. We anticipate these approved kits to be available in September 2015! Call now to reserve yours.

We are now the proud holders of FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA00353BO. The STC is for Mooney M20, M20A, M20B, M20C, M20D, M20E, M20F, M20G and M20J aircraft. We are already working with the FAA to expand our model list. We can also work with you on getting your installation approved via a field approval. Call our write us for more information. We are working with the FAA on our production certificate. All documents are drafted and we should be able to ship units by summer! Contact us today to order yours now. The STC certification is well under way. We flew our Mooney installation with FAA test crews this past fall, with our Mooney registered as Experimental. The test flights went well and we are in the process of providing documentation to the FAA prior to one final test session anticipated to occur in early 2015. While we are initially targeting Mooney M20 series aircraft, discussion is already under way regarding similar aircraft. Stay tuned or call us to learn more!
Version 3 of our software and hardware is now available. It incorporates advanced leaning software and additional safety features, such as an independent warning light in the event of a servo runaway. The warning light was added to satisfy FAA certification requirements. The advanced leaning software improves the already precise detection of peak and target hold features.
